WYC Waterman's Program

The  WYC Waterman’s Program primary focus is to perpetuate the development of inspirational Water Men & Women through positive water sport opportunities for the children and families of Hawaii. Under the guidance of Program Director, Shelley Oates-Wilding, the Waterman's Program provides a pathway for children to develop physically and mentally as champion athletes and people. With these goals in mind, the program offers holistic training programs for children to strive for personal excellence, through to World and Olympic competition.

Purpose: To provide elite equipment, training and competition opportunities for our youth, locally & internationally to perpetuated the Hawaiian “waterman” culture and positively develop our youth as leaders in our community.  To provide opportunities for our youth to be exposed to world class sporting experiences, coaching, and mentoring.  To provide information and knowledge of opportunities available to our youth through sport and give guidance and skills to facilitate positive life choices. To develop the ASPIRE philosophy throughout our youth in our community. (Attitude, Sportsmanship, Perseverance, Individual Responsibility, Respect and Enjoyment.)
