Waikiki Yacht Club Cal 20 Fleet

About the Program

Waikiki Yacht Club maintains a fleet of six Cal 20s available for charter to members.  Boats can be used for private charter for cruising Malama Bay or for competitive racing on Tuesday Nights Pig-Out Races, Friday Night Races, or WYC Beach Fleet Regattas.
The acquisition and improvement of the fleet has been made possible by the generous support of donors and the Waikiki Educational Foundation.
Members must be certified prior to requesting a charter, please see below for more information.

Reservations:

WYC Members with sailing experience can become Cal 20 Certified in one of two ways. First, they can send their sailing resume outlining their previous sailing experience to the Club's Cal 20 Co-chair, Mike Rothwell (aslysum38@hawaii.rr.com). Based on the extent of sailing experience, an additional certification check-out may be required to establish that the Cal 20 sailor is able safely navigate Ala Wai harbor and the inshore waters of Malama Bay, the waters off Waikiki.

WYC Members without sailing experience can also become Certified by completing a basic sailing course with our WYC Cal 20 sailing instructor. The course is fun, very user friendly, and affordable. For more information on Cal 20 Certification options, contact:  Dane Alden, Cal 20 Co-Chair via email: dalden@hawaii.edu.
